Abstract
Demo abstract. Augmentation was used to permit earlier loading without abandoning objective discharge criteria. Forty consecutive reconstructions were followed with force-plate testing.
Description
The technique note documents graft preparation, tape tensioning sequence and the fixation order that avoids over-constraining the graft.
Rehabilitation progression remained criteria-based; augmentation shifted the timeline only when strength targets were met early.
Innovation / discovery
Tensioning the tape at full extension with the graft tensioned at 20 degrees avoided the over-constraint seen in earlier attempts.
Surgical / procedural method
Hamstring autograft with suture-tape augmentation, adjustable-loop femoral fixation, interference screw tibial fixation. Force-plate testing at 6 and 9 months.
Research findings
- Limb symmetry index thresholds were met earlier in the demo series.
- No graft rupture within the reported follow-up window.
- Two patients had transient anterior knee pain that settled by six months.
